Leaving on a jet plane...

We leave on Wed afternoon for Texas! We're looking forward to seeing everyone and enjoying the weather in the 70s. We are planning to layer so we can strip off clothes upon landing in Houston. If any of you are watching the mail for our Christmas card, I'm being cheap this year and mailing it when we get to TX. So, my apologies if they get there after Christmas.

Since I will be very busy over the next two weeks, it is unlikely that I will have time to post to the blog until we return to Calgary in early January. So, I leave you all with a couple pictures of the kiddos dancing and hope to see you all next year!

For Daddy...

Daddy loves chocolate chip cookies. So, we made some last night. We miss you Daddy. We'll save some for you.

Both kids helped me with the ingredients.

Both kids took turns hitting the flour bowl to knock flour into the big bowl.

Tasting the cookie dough.

Look at all the cookies we made!

Daddy comes home in 2 days!!
We'll all be in Texas one week from today!!!

Cookies and more

It really is pretty here when everything is covered in white.
The trees actually don't look like this anymore. I guess if it gets up to 20 that is warm enough for it to melt off. I took this a couple days ago.

Yesterday afternoon, we made cookies. It was snowing outside, so baking seemed like the only logical thing to do. :)

Gracie cuts out a stocking-shaped cookie.

Bradley pats the dough before it gets rolled out again.

Gracie takes a turn at rolling out the dough.

Look at my hands, mom!

Licking the beater after making the icing.

!!!

Eating the end result. (Bradley ate the icing off and left the cookie.)

Yummy!

Talking on the phone to Daddy. (Speakerphone)

Still on speakerphone, but Bradley holds it to his ear anyway.

Today while Gracie was at school, Bradley played "hit the ball with Gracie's magic wand". I watched him for a while trying to decide, is it...
Golf...

or baseball??

Today, we went outside so I could shovel the driveway and sidewalk and then the kids played for a bit. We were outside for over an hour and didn't get cold until the end. I guess when you get used to hovering around 0, when you get to 20 it doesn't feel so bad. :)

Potty talk

Translation of Bradley's language:

"poo poo" = computer

"doo doo" = thank you

"pee pee" = PJs

("poo poo" also means "poo poo") :)

Only 15 more days until we are all in warm Texas!
Doug is on his way there now. grrr
I hope I don't have to shovel any snow while he is gone!

Snow Day

What do you do when it is 0F (-17C) outside and snowing??

You do some painting...

And you play with legos in front of the fire.
(Notice Bradley is wearing a different shirt here. He got paint on the green one, so I put it in the wash immediately.)

Here is a pic of Bradley napping yesterday. He laid down on the couch and fell asleep and slept for two hours! (Usually he only sleeps for one. I guess that is why he was up until 10:30 last night.)

Blanket pajamas with feet. Gotta love em. :)

Only 18 days until we are in warm Texas!
