My trip

I'm home now and life is back to normal. Doug and the kids did great while I was away. I had a blast hanging out with my sister.

Wed night:
Ticia and her kitty, Doyle (named after the governor of WI... yes, she's a political junkie and a dork!)

Thurs:
We went shopping, so all I have is a pic of the haul. :)
We ate lunch with a friend, but I forgot to take pics. Sorry Amy!

Ticia and her boyfriend Dave cooked me dinner that night. Here is the appetizer. Yum!

Friday:
We went over to my cousin's house.

Ticia with baby Landon.

My turn to hold the baby.

We dropped Landon off at Michelle's sister's house and went to Uno's in Platteville for pizza and long island iced teas.

Jason and Michelle shared one.

Ticia and I each had our own and then shared a second.

Outside Uno's before heading back.

On the phone with the kiddos for our nightly chat.

Jason and his first baby, Louis.

Saturday:

First we met my Aunt Joicelyn and Uncle Jeff for lunch, but I again forgot to get pics. Sorry guys! We had a nice time chatting with them for a few hours.

From their house, we went to Miller Park to see the Astros play the Brewers. We got there early so we could see the Astros batting practice.

Several Astros can be seen in this pic including my fave Brad Ausmus (11) and one of Ticia's faves Hunter Pence (9).

Ausmus hitting in the cage.

Lance Berkman hitting. (That's for you, Doug.) :)

Carlos Lee hitting. (He hit about a dozen homers in BP, so we were really excited when he hit one during the game too.)

Ticia got her ball signed by Pence. She was shaking from the excitement.

Brad ignored me asking for his autograph and kept walking into the dugout. He looks great though. ;)

The guy from the Miller High Life commercials was there to throw out the first pitch.

Ticia went to the front row to get this pic of her favorite Astro, Brandon Backe, as he was coming in from warming up in the bullpen. He pitched a good game.

Here's a pic of Ausmus watching from the dugout. He didn't play. :(

Backe hitting.

Ausmus warming Backe up while Quintero got his catcher's gear back on.

The Sausage Races!!!

After the game, we took lots of pics...

Ticia pointed out that it looks like I'm not wearing pants in this pic. :)

Sunday:

We went to UW's campus to meet Jason and Michelle and walk around and eat lunch before I had to catch the shuttle to O'Hare.

Jason and I in front of the lake.

Landon was sleeping, but since she knew I really wanted to hold him again before I left, Michelle got him out so I could. Thanks Michelle!

She even let me give him a bottle. (Sorry we made such a mess.)
Isn't it cute that he was holding on to my little finger?

Ticia made me take this pic outside the restaurant with Bucky.

What I missed while I was away:

I left our camera with Doug so he wouldn't miss any great shots of the kiddos. It sure would have been nice to have it at the game though since our camera has a lot more zoom. Here are a few pics he took.

Gracie playing Mario Cart on the old N64 while Bradley watches.

At the zoo.

On the train. Looks like Gracie could have used some hair help, lol.

Wrigley Field

Here are pictures from the Wrigley Field tour yesterday. It was awesome, even though we were mostly surrounded by Cubs fans. ;)

We were very amused by this sign on the visitor's clubhouse.

This is the visitor's bathroom. Notice all the deoderant, lotion, hair spray, brushes, q-tips and the all important needle receptacle. LOL! :)

Me at the right field foul pole.

View from the outfield.

This is inside the Cubs' club house. The board drops down in front of the plasma and the net drops down so players can get ready to pinch hit.

This is how the Cubs clubhouse is set up for games.

Here is Ticia's cheesy pic of her touching the grass.

I am sitting in the visitor's dugout and couldn't stop grinning.

Ticia's dugout pic.

Both of us on the Wrigley field.

I love this pic of the empty seats with the Chicago skyline in the background.

View from the press box.

The scoreboard.

Yesterday morning was tough. Getting through the airport by myself was very easy, but emotionally hard. Suddenly I realized that I'm mortal and I was terrified that something would happen to me and I would never see my babies again. The flight went fine though and I had a great day and night with my sister. We spent today shopping and met a mutual friend for lunch. Lots of good times to come, I'm sure. And last night when I talked to the kiddos, they had a great day with daddy, so I'm sure things are going well on both ends. I'm having a great time, but I know I'll be so happy on Sunday night when I see the kiddos and Doug again.
