Here are some random thoughts on driving approx 2100 miles with two small children:
1. Our kids do not sleep well in hotels. It does not matter how tired they are in the car or whether or not they take naps during the day, they take forever to fall asleep in a hotel.
2. 2100 miles is a long time for someone who gets carsick to be in a car. :(
3. Doing nothing but driving for 4 1/2 days is exhausting. It's over a week since we got to TX and I'm still drained.
4. Our kids did not drive us crazy with the 'are we there yet?' talk until the last day. Probably because that was the day they would see their grandparents. They did drive us crazy though. They asked every 5 minutes right after the other.
5. Having a birthday while in the middle of a 5 day/2100 mile drive really sucks.
