Several things to talk about this morning...
The Flames won last night to force game 7. Go Flames Go!
Saturday night, as we were all watching the Astros game, we had a life lesson for our children. In the 7th inning, when Geoff Blum hit a double that was called out b/c the cheater outfielder for the Rockies jumped up with the ball like he had caught it, we had a talk with our children about lying. We told them both that if they ever don't catch the ball, they should jump up and throw it in immediately, not pretend they caught it to fool the umpires. And for those of you who will say that with the way the Astros have been playing it wouldn't have mattered, let me remind you how the rest of that inning played out. If Blum had been on second with nobody out like he was supposed to, he would have scored. Hunter Pence hit a groundout to the right side which would have advanced Blum to third with one out. Next, JR Towles hit a warning track fly ball to right field which would have scored Blum on a sac fly. That's a tied game, folks. Who knows what would have happened if it went to extras.
And while we're on the topic of the Astros, they stink.
And while we're on the topic of things stinking, the weather up here stinks. We're not going to get above freezing until Thursday. This totally bites after having gorgeous Spring weather last week. We've been told by many that Calgary gets snow in every month of the year. Our next door neighbor says there is always at least one big snow in May. My parents are visiting in May, so Doug and I are laughing at the thought of tons of snow while they visit. And even funnier would be if it snowed in July when Doug's parents are here. Not really though. I'm so tired of the snow and cold. Forget about Spring, I'm ready for Summer!
